eMarketing is an easy way to market self/company/product, if you know the way to do it sky is the limit. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the best and hot ongoing process now in market. Now it's the time to hit the market through web also, or you are era back. Google, MSN and Yahoo Search Engines are the top leaders in this segment. As per my knowledge I can say, out of 100% Google is about 60% to 70% shares MSN and Yahoo are neck-to-neck say 10% to 15% and remaining goes to other search engines.
Key Tips (Hint) In your website you should maintain proper HTML Tags:
META Tags: It's very important for any website, because it defines the page and its properties. Meta Keyword and Meta Descriptions are the things, which the Crawlers, Spiders, Bots looks at first place and if these are used properly you can get good ranking on the search engines.

Title Tag: Title Tag also plays very important role, it can carry major keywords for the web page, and again one should know how to use it.
H1, H2, H3… Tags: It's very advisable to use H1 tags for heading purpose on a website pages, H1 for headings and H2 for sub-headings and so on. Do use your major keywords inside these tags. Also you can use CSS to improve the looks.
Use of Anchor tags cleverly: By this I mean a page should have relevant links on it and also the external link pointing to the page should be relevant. Also have your keywords inside the Anchor Tags. It's a plus for the website.
File Naming Convention: Matters a lot. Do not use space while naming a file, use underscore "_" of hyphen "-".
Tool Tips: Always use ALT tag on images and give a relevant keyword to the images.
Link exchange: Do it as much as you can but be very careful with whom you are exchanging the link, look for relevancy again here.
