The organic way of ranking high in search engines (i.e. Google.com, Bing.com) in the unpaid section to increase the quality and quantity of website traffic is known as SEO.
Digital Marketing is an easy way to market self/company/product, if you know the way to do it sky is the limit. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the best and hot ongoing process in market. Google, Bing and Yahoo Search Engines are the top leaders in this segment. As per my knowledge out of 100% Google is about 90% Bing has 2% and Yahoo! Around 1.5% shares and remaining goes to other search engines likes Baidu, Yandax, DuckDuckGo etc.
SEO can be divided into two different categories on-page SEO and off-page SEO. While on-page SEO refers to the factors you can control on your own website, off-page SEO refers to the page ranking factors that occur off your website, like backlinks from another websites.
Meta descriptions have been an important optimization point. Meta descriptions tags provides a description of what the webpage is all about.

It's very advisable to use H1 tags for heading purpose on a website pages, H1 for headings and H2 for sub-headings and so on. Do use your major keywords inside these tags. Also, you can use CSS to improve the looks.
By this I mean a page should have relevant links on it and also the external link pointing to the page should be relevant. Also have your keywords inside the Anchor Tags. It's a plus for the website.
Matters a lot. Do not use space while naming a file, use hyphen "-" or underscore "_" (e.g. html-5-overview.html).
Always use ALT tag on images and give a relevant keyword to the images.
Do it as much as you can but be very careful with whom you are exchanging the link, look for relevancy again here.
